The First Armenian J/70 Open Championship was organized by Yacht Club Winds of Armenia. We decided to take on the mission of developing an entire region in Armenia, whose heart is Lake Sevan - one of the highest lakes in the World.
Sailing became the backbone of development. The Yacht Club Winds of Armenia fleet consists of 10 new J/70 yachts, manufactured in 2024 by J Composites, with sails from OneSails.
Great history, archaeology, amazing gastronomy, cognac and wine have already become the hallmarks of Armenia. The traditions of Armenian hospitality are the quintessence of the generosity and cordiality of the Armenian people, And from 2024, together with teams of athletes, we will open a new chapter in the history of the Republic of Armenia - as a center of sailing.

Lake Sevan has a long history and is a nature reserve. Fish listed in the Red Book live here, and amazing birds - American swans - fly here.
Around the lake there are religious centers, monasteries and temples from the 9th-12th centuries, and Noratus, a place where more than 4,000 ancient historical Khachkars are located, is of particular value.
